Different Jobs That You Can Do from Home

The pandemic has had a massive impact on the way that people view their work and the working environment. As covid spread across the world, organizations had to adapt and begin operating from home. Since then, a lot of people have realized just how much they enjoy working from home and subsequently view it as a priority.

Suppose you are looking for work that you are able to do remotely and, therefore, with a bit more freedom. In that case, you’re in the right place, as this article is going to discuss in more detail some of the different jobs that are available to you that you can do from the comfort of your own home.

Customer Service Representative

As a customer care or customer service representative, it will be your responsibility to solve problems, answer different questions, and work with customers in order to provide them with advice over the phone or online. You will be able to work with a variety of businesses, too; you might be hired by just one business in a team of many, or you might take on the customer service role for a small company and just handle queries as they come in.

This is an easy role for you to break into, and there are always plenty of jobs available. The only downside that comes with a role such as this is that a lot of the time, when people are looking for jobs that they can do from home, they are looking for flexibility, and this isn’t necessarily granted when you work in customer care. You need to be available throughout specific times, and therefore, you have to adhere to strict hours. To get flexibility in this role, you must be careful with which roles you take and the culture you are joining.

Blog Writing

Blogs have a prominent place in the modern world for businesses and consumers. Therefore getting work writing them can always be a good way to work from home. One of the main reasons that businesses use blog writing is because it can help them rank higher on search engines. This can be done by publishing articles on their website or by guest posting on other sites.

One of the great points about this job is that because you are writing for many different clients, you will generally have to research things you have never come across (expanding your knowledge), and you will be writing different things each time, so you’re less likely to get bored than if you were creating your own blog.

Agencies such as www.clickintelligence.com specialize in this type of blogging for SEO. Either way, there are opportunities for you to start working as a blog writer, so you should be sure to take advantage of this role which is flexible and that you’re able to do from home.

Website Testing

A website tester does exactly what you think they do. They are responsible for going on different websites and applications to test them and see what their usability is like. This means using them on a number of different devices so that they work for all audiences.

You will need to go on a desktop, laptop, tablet, and phone to test websites and make notes on whether people will be able to use them effectively. This role comes with a lot of freedom as you will simply need to try out websites and then give honest feedback that people will be able to extract from to improve what they offer their clients.

There are a number of websites available where you’re going to be able to find different website testing jobs. Some of these are UserTesting and Userlytics, but there are plenty more out there too. There is also no need to be completely tech competent in this kind of role – if you or perhaps an elderly relative wants to get a little bit more income but you are not familiar with computers, how to use websites, and so on, you might actually be exactly the website tester needed. Websites should be accessible and usable for anyone, no matter what their computer skills are, and having someone with poor internet skills test them can highlight any problems an infrequent user might face.

Virtual Assistant

Virtual assistants can cover many aspects of a business. They have always been around since remote working was even a concept, but as this has become more common and people take the opportunity to work from anywhere in the world, there has been a sharp rise in virtual assistants. Their role is to offer administrative support – it might be for a person, for a department, or for the whole business.

You could take on this role full-time or part-time, so it’s easy to fit in around other work too, if needed. They’re particularly common with small businesses or start-ups – where the business is growing, but they may not have fixed premises or the administration of the company needs to be kept under control, but is not big enough to need a full administration office. You could reach out to companies offering your services, but there are many virtual assistant jobs advertised.

These are just a few jobs that you can start doing from home. With these jobs, you do not need much training, but you will need an aptitude for the work and some experience in the tasks required. There are many more roles you can do from home, but these will probably require particular training.

These days any work which is completed in an office can be done from home, and there will be options around. If you are already skilled in a profession, then the next stage for your career might be to increase your work and home life flexibility by moving to a working from home position. You might even find that you want to become freelance and have even more control over the work you take on and the hours you operate.
