About WFH

What is WFH?

WFH is an acronym for “work from home” and means that work is being done remotely, instead of at an office.

Many organizations transitioned their employees from the office to WFH during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

How to WFH successfully

Traditionally, work is done in an office.

A business functions in a physical workspace and work-related tasks are completed by employees at the office itself. This is changing with the progression of digital transformation and the migration to WFH.

As software capabilities become more complex and businesses come to rely on them more, companies are finding that many of their employees are no longer bound by a physical workplace in order to work efficiently. Instead, telecommuting, or working from home, can be just as efficient.

Businesses can have a successful WFH workforce if:

  • Employees are equipped with the right hardware tools to perform their tasks
  • The organization has the right software that enables their employees to be successful
  • Managers and company leaders embrace WFH culture implement successful corporate WFH procedures

Coronavirus and WFH

The Coronavirus pandemic put many out of work. Employees and employers of restaurants and barber shops for example, could not transition to a WFH model.

Many more were sent to WFH. COVID has pushed these companies to leverage technology and think how they can efficiently and effectively continue to work and function, through digital means. Embracing new technology is a key factor in determining how quickly and efficiently a company can function virtually.

Working from home (WFH) has quickly become a method for companies to develop a productive workforce that extends beyond the physical walls of the company offices. Many employees and business owners consultants have been WFH for years, but the pandemic has made many realize the value in moving away from the office.

While WFH isn’t a new approach, 2020 is the tipping point year that working from home went from being a secondary approach to a mainstream capability for businesses of all sizes.
